Writer of the Grail romance Roman de l’Estore dou Saint Graal, c. 1190-1199. De Boron hinted at a “great book of secrets” upon which he based his tale. As in Le Roman de Perceval, (see de Troyes, Chretien) in this story Percival discovers he is a member of the “Grail Family,” a grandson of the Fisher King. Roman de l’Estore dou Saint Graal is unusual in that it is set during the lifetime of Joseph of Arimithea, a contemporary of Jesus. See Holy Grail.
