Abbey of Orval

Godefroi de Boullion’s aunt, Mathilde de Toscan, donated a portion of land near Stenay to a mysterious group of Calabrian monks in 1070, who subsequently founded the Abbey of Orval. But by 1108 the monks had mysteriously disappeared – no known records exist of their subsequent whereabouts. One of these monks is rumored to have been Peter the Hermit. The abbey, currently a ruin, is rumored to be associated with Nostradamus, Cabbalah, and the secret of the Holy Grail. See Godfroi de Boullion.
