The lands of
Navarre, Aragon and Catalonia lie between France and
the Islamic Emirate of Cordova (real-world Spain and
Portugal) to the south. Aragon and Catalonia are avid
supporters of the Duke of Lorraine.
They are willing to cede their lands to France in the
name of “reunification”. The annexation
of the marquises’ lands is only the first part
of Lorraine’s broader plan of territorial expansion.
Navarre does not support Lorraine, nor does he want
to cede his lands to France, a fact which could get
him into trouble with his fellow marquises – and
with Lorraine.
